I was invited to make the illustrations for the featured article including the cover of JUP, University of Porto Newspaper. To develop the set of four greyscale illustrations, I had only the theme - new and old ways of academic integration. The text came afterwards. When approaching this project I've decided that the illustration should evoke first the problem: one being dropped in the university, having to live for the first time alone in a new and unknown city. Followed by three possible ways of dealing with it: the traditional praxe, the students associations and mutual support between older and younger students. I also made gif animations, especially for the digital version of the newspaper.
